In South Africa, the soaring cost of accommodation is driving a growing number of young professionals, students, and newly employed citizens into townships, seeking affordable backrooms and shared living spaces—what we call Ama rooms. Yet finding safe, quality, and affordable rentals under R5,000 remains a frustrating and risky process, largely ignored by traditional property platforms.

UREE (Urban Real Estate Enterprise) is changing this. We’ve built a smart online marketplace (uree.online) dedicated to connecting property seekers with trusted, reviewed, and affordable township and inner-city rental options. From backrooms to student communes, we’re bridging the gap between landlords and a massive underserved market.

Now, we’re raising R200,000 in exchange for 20% equity to accelerate our mission. This capital will help us grow our platform, run marketing campaigns in township hubs, onboard more landlords and service providers (like movers and Wi-Fi installers), and ultimately reach thousands of people who desperately need reliable, low-cost housing options.
